JOB PURPOSE

If you are dedicated to implementing Procurement Strategies in various areas like Competitive Buying, Sustainable Sourcing, and building partnerships for Logistics Procurement across Europe, this role is perfect for you.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage relationships, negotiations, and allocations with suppliers for Warehousing & Transportation (Accountable for relationships with several suppliers, focusing on responsible sourcing, quality, performance management, continuous improvement, resilience, segmentation, contractual models, strategies, and 3PL negotiations)

  • Support Europe’s competitive buying initiatives.

  • Assist in the annual tender process for the European cluster, including mini tenders (palletized and bulk).

  • Aid in the procurement contracting process and contract management for designated portfolios.

  • Contribute to sustainability projects and initiatives (alternative fuels, energy-efficient operations).

  • Implement and execute Procurement Strategy.

  • Ensure Procurement compliance and advancement of the digital agenda.

  • Serve as a center of excellence by providing subject-matter expertise across various European Logistics sub-portfolios and fostering value creation opportunities.

  • Support the establishment and promotion of a Community of Logistics Procurement practice.

  • Analyze data for trends, patterns, anomalies, and insights beneficial to business.

  • Lead cross-regional projects or activities as directed by the line manager.

  • Business partner the stakeholders in Supply Chain & factories to ensure successful delivery of required services to support the business.

EXPERIENCES & QUALIFICATIONS:   

  • A bachelor’s degree is required at minimum.

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in Procurement or Logistics is essential, with a preference for 5 years. Preferred experience within Unilever, the FMCG industry, or a large, complex organization with significant portfolio and market knowledge.

  • Successful track record in Strategy and Capability Development and Implementation.

  • Proficiency in Supply Market Intelligence, Analysis, Competitiveness, and identifying value opportunities.

  • Self-motivated with the capability to work independently.

  • Experience collaborating within cross-functional teams in a matrix environment, both in-person and virtually.

SKILLS:

  • Exceptional negotiation abilities,

  • Advanced interpersonal and communication competence including stakeholder management,

  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English,

  • Outstanding analytical capabilities,

  • Proficient operational skills with computer applications (MS Office) and advanced expertise in MS Excel,

  • Financial knowledge to offer insights on inflation effects,

  • Expertise in sustainable sourcing,

  • Strong business and commercial insight,

  • Problem-solving aptitude, particularly for independently addressing complex issues in uncertain environments under dynamic conditions and time constraints,

  • Data-driven decision making,

  • Cost modelling and change management.
