JOB DESCRIPTION

The Beauty & Wellbeing (B&W) CTI/Claims team plays a pivotal role in shaping the voice of science behind our skin care innovations. As a WL1A Associate Scientist, you will be instrumental in shaping the claims and insights that define our skin care innovations. You will be at the forefront of translating technical product performance into compelling, consumer-relevant claims that are both credible and compliant. This role is ideal for someone passionate about skin care, consumer behavior, and the science of communication.

In addition to supporting claims strategy and consumer research, you will design and implement sensory evaluation protocols to assess product performance and consumer perception, and apply data mining and modeling techniques to consumer data to uncover deeper insights. Your work will directly influence how consumers perceive and trust our products, ensuring that claims are grounded in robust science and resonate with real consumer need

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the design and execution of consumer technical insight (CTI) and claims strategies for skin care innovation projects.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including formulation, legal, regulatory, and marketing to ensure claims are robust, substantiated, and aligned with brand objectives.

  • Assist in developing and executing consumer research plans (qualitative and quantitative) to uncover insights and validate claims.

  • Design and implement sensory evaluation protocols to assess product performance and consumer perception.

  • Apply data mining techniques and modeling of consumer data to extract actionable insights and strengthen claims substantiation.

  • Participate in the development of new testing methodologies and tools to enhance consumer understanding and claims robustness.

  • Maintain awareness of competitor claims and industry trends to inform strategy and innovation.

  • Support the coordination of clinical and instrumental testing where required, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.

Pay: The pay range for this position is $58,700 to $86,280. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs. 

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible. 

Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
