What You’ll Do

  • Oversee day to day operations of the laboratory
  • Works hand in hand with production and logistics supervisors to guide and troubleshoot issues related to quality on a day-to-day basis. Develops knowledge of operations to act as a reference for other departments and develop a culture of quality driven mindset. Provides QA technical support to all site departments including production, maintenance, facilities, and engineering as required to achieve business goals.
  • Develops and implements validations, testing, inspection procedures and statistical analysis to incoming materials, in process, and finished products to ensure product compliance with GMPs, food safety, and company specifications.
  • Research product defects recommending modifications in products or standards and prepares necessary reports and action plans.
  • Ensure compliance to our factory standards, specifications and GMPs.  Will ensure effectiveness via use of assessment/audit and CAPA that supports the findings.
  • Supports site during external audits such as CFIA, FDA , GFSI (FSSC 22000) and customer FSQ programs
  • Ensure quality program skill and training programs implemented for site.
  • Provides technical expertise (SME) to support risk identification and mitigation strategies
  • Leads sprint teams to quickly address and resolve Quality issues in both systems and processes.
  • Support the Quality Management System improvement process for the most relevant topics including SAP-QM and QualityOne (Veeva).
  • Maintains and organizes D-Incident investigations and tracks issues using SAP, coordinating D-Incident management with production, and managing business waste budget. Maintains Laboratory testing equipment and quality related digital solutions.
  • Assist in sanitation programs providing technical support an asset
  • Drives continuous improvements and investigation for consumer complaints
  • Provides Quality updates to Category to key stakeholders
  • Quality representative for Innovation projects to drive compliance, growth, and consumer love.
  • Collaborates with R&D and others in Supply Chain to enable key work streams driving our business growth

What You’ll Need To Succeed

  • Post Secondary and/or University degree in technical discipline or general sciences. Preferred: Biology, Microbiology, or Chemistry
  • Applied knowledge of GMP, HACCP, ISO 22716, Allergen Management, Food Safety, FSSC 22000, FDA 21 CFR 210, etc
  • Preferred 3 years of experience in Supply Chain Quality or R&D, additional experience in Manufacturing a plus.
  • An affinity for change management and digital solutions
  • Demonstrated leader of functional working teams
  • Proven effective in collaboration and communication
  • Basic proficiency in MS tools (Excel, Power BI, PPT) and UL Business Systems (SAP, PLM)
