Unilever Personal care is a multi-billion € business with much loved deodorant, skin cleansing and oral care brands including Dove, Rexona, Lux, Axe, Lifebuoy and Pepsodent. We hold leading category positions in deodorants and skin cleansing globally and the #1 or #2 position in Oral Care in the countries where we are present.

To differentiate our Personal Care brands from competitors, we go beyond individual products and aim to deliver purposeful, holistic branded experiences that are memorable, encourage repeat purchases, advocacy, and justify premium pricing.

The Personal Care Design team is part of our Marketing organization, working alongside our partners in R&D Packaging, Sustainability, and Future Science to deliver superior, holistic product design.

They are responsible for transforming the culture of Personal Care projects and people by promoting and implementing best practices in creative problem-solving processes, tools, and techniques.

Personal Care Designers are deployed in areas that require a technically-minded, creative-thinking approach. They work as part of project teams to identify, codify, and amplify the Key Experience DNA of packaging, product, and brand as part of a holistic mix, synthesizing outputs with design execution skills and bring future innovation to life to share with our stakeholders and consumers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop holistic product experiences for personal care brands.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain voice of consumer on project.

  • Lead design briefing, ensuring timely progress.

  • Stay updated on design trends and emerging technologies.

  • Help create digital and physical prototypes to demonstrate Key Experience Indicators.

  • Foster strategic partnerships with agencies / freelance designers for design ecosystem growth.

  • Maintain design standards throughout the development process.

  • Manage relationships with external agencies/freelance vendors.

  • Share insights with stakeholders concisely.

  • Conduct workshops using design thinking techniques.

  • Create concept experience designs using 2D/ 3D / AI software

  • Mentor junior team members.

Critical Success Factors:

  • A real passion for brands, design and packaging in FMCG

  • Experience in product design and packaging, having worked with agencies or graphic designers & design consultants

  • Adept at using creative studios and design tools, e.g. Photoshop.

  • Proven track record in leading or working in multidisciplinary teams.

  • Experience launching brand designs for (preferably consumer) brands that have landed in the Indian or international market.

  • Passion for outstanding experience design, packaging formats and materials.

  • Attention to detail with a future-oriented mindset.

  • Working knowledge of end-to-end product development

  • Collaborative approach with mentoring skills.

  • 5+ years of packaging design experience.

  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects with a flexible work style.
