The Business Product Manager – DT Trade Promotions will be a key member of the Global DDT Team, acting as the subject matter expert on digital trade promotions. This role is responsible for developing a data-driven framework to optimize promotion mechanics and effectiveness, aligned with Category Strategy & Planning Team’s Jobs-To-Be-Done (JTBDs). The individual will leverage analytical insights to guide product decisions and drive strategic personalization of promotions and properties. A critical aspect of the role involves building and sustaining strong, symbiotic partnerships with in-market CSPs to ensure mutual value creation within the DDT ecosystem. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, strong analytical acumen, and proven cross-functional collaboration skills. Prior experience as an Area Sales Manager (2+ years) and a background in trade promotions planning or brand management will be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
GT Promotions Subject Matter Expert:
Lead end to end engagement with DDT (Digitisation of Distributive/General Trade) markets and Unilever Uniops team on DT promotions
Articulate the promotion design framework: Category Jobs to be done (JTBD) à Channel JTBD à Outlet Identification àPromo mechanic à Evaluation
Drive engagement with CSP (Category Startegy and Planning/Trade Marketing) Team:
Collaborate with CSP teams in each market run pilots and always on engagement to deliver JTBDs through a win-win partnerhship
Define and communicate clear category goals and objectives to stakeholders, ensuring alignment across the organization
Promotion Intelligence:
Collaborate with DDT Platform and in-market DT COE teams and lead the simplification of DT Promotions led by data backed intelligence on trade promos
Promo Personalization:
Run personalised campaign pilots in markets along with CSP/Trade marketing leads
Establish business benefits and design repeatable model
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
High level of collaboration needed in the role – key stakeholders include UniOPS team, In-market DT COE, In-market CSPs, Finance and change management
Be in sync with other DDT Squads like Demand Capture, Customer Service & Digital Adoption and Demand Fulfillment to ensure a seamless user journey
Engagement to be built and maintained with BU leadership in markets to drive CSP engagement with the program
Project Management:
Lead and manage product development end-to-end – from finding user insights to briefing teams and handholding them through business and user insights for successful and timely execution
Key Requirements
Master's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field.
6yrs+ experience in FMCG is required with hands on experience in handling DT sales as an Area Sales Manager would be preferred. Experience in DT Trade Promotions planning or in brand management provides an edge
Understanding & appreciation of product management is preferreds
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and leverage data to drive actionable insights
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders
Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to motivate and inspire peers from cross-functional teams
