Within Capex and Utilities portfolio, the Procurement Manager – Capex/MRO & Utilities, PTAB is responsible for the sourcing strategy development, implementation and procurement of all engineering, fuel and energy spends related to construction, maintenance and operations of Unilever plants and green field/ brown field projects in the newly created Pakistan, Turkey, Arabia and Bangladesh region.

This role will increase effectiveness of our Capex/ MRO and Utilities procurement by creating an expertise-driven model, streamlining accountabilities, building capabilities, developing market alternatives, and leveraging knowledge, relationships, and business strategies across markets to bring the best value sourcing solutions for the various projects.

The incumbent will increase efficiency of our Capex/ MRO and Utilities procurement by driving scale where it makes sense, decreasing fragmentation, leveraging global supply bases, prioritizing higher impact spend areas, leveraging technology and data, and delivering on best practices. This role will also play a critical role in the decarbonization of our Scope 1 & 2 footprint and expand into Scope 3 in future.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

  • Lead the development and implementation of procurement strategies relevant for capex project sourcing and its execution for factories and new Greenfield projects.
  • Be accountable for the implementation of the Utilities and Decarbonization Procurement strategies and best practices across PTAB 
  • Lead sourcing for large projects- Deep knowledge and understanding of mechanical, electrical, utilities, structure & civil packages, cost benchmarks, cost drivers, future RM price movements and risk mitigation, leverage local and global supply base to get best value deals for the project.  
  • Ability to Independently lead sourcing of large value and complex CAPEX packages including negotiation planning and execution (Technology led process plants, Civil and Structure works, heavy equipment erection, Tanks, Piping, Electrical and Instrumentation, Fire detection and fighting, Insulation and Steam tracing etc.)
  • Evaluate and facilitate Decision making process- product life cycle costs, spares and consumables cost, services cost (TCO analysis) 
  • Detailed analysis and decision for ‘Award of business’ to suppliers in alignment with Procurement/ Project leadership.
  • Legal agreements drafting with Legal counsel, negotiation with suppliers to finalise the contracts.
  • Establish successful Ways of Working (WoW) between stakeholders and Procurement. Develop and execute ongoing communications with the stakeholders for the selected sourcing strategies and progress within area of spend responsibility.
  • Engagement with key suppliers and awareness of industry trends as well as identification of new capable suppliers, Supplier assessment (commercial, technical) and final supplier selection.  
  • Multiple Stake holder management both Internal and external i.e., Project leadership & Teams, legal counsel/ agencies, Finance, Global Procurement and Suppliers
  • RFQ process management- Float RFQs, secure offers, receive TBA/CBA from Project team, collate and prepare a negotiation plan, conduct negotiations to conclude deals (familiarity with e-tenders preferred), award business.
  • Take ownership and lead projects in procurement across the key areas of Partner to Win (PTW), Responsible Partner Policy (RPP), Sustainability, Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), Savings, Cash and People & Well-Being

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

Experiences & Qualifications

  • Engineering graduate (any discipline) is necessary. (Post-Graduation in Engineering or Management, procurement certifications will be an added advantage)
  • Experience in buying utilities (Electricity, Gas, Water, Renewable Energy) and managing decarbonization projects is a plus
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a technical procurement position, including large project sourcing and/or utilities sourcing
  • Excellent/proven Negotiation skills for sourcing of high value complex packages  
  • Experience in Negotiating and finalizing legal contracts for projects
  • Ability to operate independently
  • Proactive, Collaborative, positive team player with ability to lead teams.
  • Strong communicator with experience in working successful in virtual team environments
  • Skilled at challenging business stakeholders and driving change
  • Ability in communicating effectively in English & Turkish
