Beauty & Wellbeing is a dynamic and fast-growing Business Group within Unilever, consisting of the Hair Care and Skin Care categories. This role supports the CTI, Claims and Engagement agenda across PTAB (Pakistan, Turkey, Arabia and Bangladesh), contributing to the delivery of superior products and compelling consumer experiences. WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

The Consumer Technical Insight (CTI) team is a core function within R&D, responsible for generating consumer insights, substantiating product claims, and driving engagement with both internal and external audiences. We are currently seeking an Assistant Manager to join our PTAB team, based in Istanbul, to support these critical activities across the region.

  • Collaborate closely with global and local CTI colleagues and key stakeholders across PTAB to ensure that consumer insights from the region are effectively captured and integrated at the appropriate stages of innovation and renovation projects.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of new product development, savings, and superiority projects across PTAB, ensuring alignment with both Business Group and PTAB stakeholders. This includes driving project execution from concept to launch, managing timelines and resources, and ensuring that product performance meets consumer expectations and competitive benchmarks.
  • Support the development & deployment of consumer-relevant product claims in collaboration with the global claims teams, helping to maximise impact, evaluate potential risks, and ensure alignment with key stakeholders across local markets.
  • Deliver planning and execution of technical substantiation appraisal studies for consumer relevant product claims in the laboratory and in 3rd parties, run competitor monitoring activities, lead product sensory checks, lead technical readiness of the consumer understanding studies.
  • Collaborate with Demand Creation leads across PTAB to co-develop engaging content and storytelling/knowledge based selling for both existing brands and new innovations, with a strong focus on social-first activation. Additionally, lead R&D-led engagement sessions, ensuring that local consumer insights and product or technology communications are effectively brought to life and aligned with broader strategic objectives.
  • Drive the execution of the regional CTI programme while actively contributing to the development of a unified CTI, Claims and Engagement capability across PTAB. Support capability building by fostering collaboration, sharing best practices, and enabling knowledge transfer across markets and teams to strengthen functional excellence and future readiness.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Experiences & Qualifications

  • Educated in science, engineering, market research, or any of the physical sciences, marketing, or business disciplines.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an FMCG R&D function, preferably within Beauty & Wellbeing and/or Personal Care categories.
  • Strong skills in technical data handling, analysis, and interpretation, with hands-on experience using MS Excel or similar tools, and preferably statistical analysis software such as JMP.
  • Familiarity with consumer testing methodologies & competitor monitoring and trend analysis is essential.
  • Effective stakeholder management and business partnering skills, with the ability to influence across functions and geographies.
  • Excellent communicator, able to translate complex scientific concepts into clear, compelling messages for diverse stakeholders including brand teams, customer development, regulators, trade partners, and consumers.
  • Comfortable navigating complex global networks and leading multi-functional, multi-cultural teams across regions.
  • A growth mindset, technical depth, agility, and a strong passion for high performance are essential.
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal) is mandatory, as the role requires clear communication across regional and global teams.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hybrid working with 3 days of office work (Main location is Umraniye Head Office. Based on project tasks/requirements, occasional work will require presence in Sarıgazi Pilot Plant office.)
