JOB PURPOSE
We are looking to hire experienced R&D who is self-motivated with strong leadership and business acumen to drive raw material development and Fuel for Growth for Greater Asia

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Accountable for the following aspects of raw materials in GA, raw material development, cost optimization, complexity reduction under simplification program and supply protection under resilience program.
  • Collaborating with procurement, suppliers, GDC, country R&D, food institute and universities through Ecosystem framework to support the supply continuity, operational efficiency (optimized number of materials) and cost optimization while maintain or enhance superior product performance as well as product innovation & superiority program
  • Responsible for regional key raw materials, knowledgeable and understand key raw materials in GA in terms of availability, production process, specification, alternative substitutional and price competitiveness.

Key Accountable/Responsible Areas

Fuel For Growth

5S PL Saving

  • Accountable for PL saving target achievement and support Technical Development Lead to ensure effectiveness of PL saving program in GA.
  • Collaborate with F4G key contacts of each country under visibility of R&D country leads to obtain saving ideas and support throughout the program.
  • Monitor pivotal projects closely and track PL saving performance of GA as well as by country, providing monthly updates.
    • Generate the PL saving performance monthly report.
    • Facilitate F4G monthly update and ensure key actions & escalation are discussed for decision making.
  • Connect with Global 5S – PL saving lead to update status of key projects and overall GA performance.
  • Search for saving opportunities from raw material and formulation with information and data-driven methods.
  • Ensure technology readiness for big-bet saving projects through Ecosystem framework, collaborating with GDC, suppliers, food institutes, and universities.
  • Manage big-bet saving roadmap and escalate to enable projects to ensure OTIF.

Simplification

  • Drive simplification program to reduce raw material complexity and safeguard number of materials in GA portfolio while still opens up opportunities for innovation to support business growth

Resilience

  • Responsible for resilience program, support Procurement team to drive risk lowering actions to ensure raw material supply continuity and prevent Supply Chain disruption.

Raw Material Development

Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including project owners, GDC, procurements and Supply Chain, as well as external partners such as suppliers, Food institutes and universities under Ecosystem framework to develop new materials for product innovations & superiority projects

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Science
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in FMCG industries, within Research & Development team is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience using project management skill, including planning & prioritization, collaboration and stakeholder management.
  • Good understanding of holistic food manufacturing process and cost elements
  • Understand product development processes and basic understanding of consumer testing.
  • Curiosity, thinking out of the box, good initiative and good logical thinking
  • High personal responsibility and accountability
  • Good team player with great communication skill and ability to lead
  • Rigour in quality of work with great attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to adapt to fast-paced and changing contexts.
  • Willingness and openness to learn from others and the past, and in envisioning possibilities for the future.
