Background and Context

Dove Men+Care was launched in 2010 reaching €1 billion in 2024.  Is one the of most successful PC launches of the century.  Dove Men + Care has grown consistently, driven by being the first brand talking to the modern man and thanks to its commitment to superior care. As a trailblazer in the male personal care industry, Dove Men + Care has led the way on bringing superior care to places Men didn’t have access to.

Dove Men + Care Personal Care sales are ~60% Deodorants and 40% Skin Cleansing. We hold leading positions in Deodorants and Skin Cleansing and Deodorants.

The US is the largest Market for Dove Men + Care representing to 56% of the business in 2024 it delivered €567milion and our ambition is to become a DM+C US PC business of €1billion brand by 2028.

Job Purpose & Responsibilities

The selected candidate will lead the full agenda of Dove Men + Care in US in a very pivotal moment for the brand. We must bring discontinuity to our approach to fulfil the potential of the brand in the US; transforming the brand and making it truly DESIRABLE, embedded in CULTURE to regain our leading position in Difference that has been affected recently by the entrance of new disruptor brands and by the large shift on Men’s approach to self-care specially after 2020 (Covid disruption).

Major Accountabilities are:

  • Key member of the Dove Men + Care leadership team leading a team of Brand Managers with cross functional teams to drive results.
  • Develop the long-term Dove Men + Care US strategy, with clarity on key growth opportunities and big bets across Deo and Skin Cleansing
  • Lead Core and Premium platforms (wellness, therapeutic beauty, emotioneering) across Deos and Skin Cleansing, stewarding the long-term vision for these platforms and developing a destination portfolio and long-term innovation roadmap to deliver it.
  • Drive the growth of Dove Men + Care PC US business through bespoke US innovations and communication, aligned with SASSY principles. (Science, Aesthetics, Sensorial, Said by Others and Young Spirited)
  • Develop delightful and highly desirable mixes able to elevate Dove Men+Care. The development of Premium mixes for DMC is expected to include format/ benefit disruption and pioneering innovative launch models (eg. Incubation models) for the 1st time in Unilever Male BPC.
  • Boost engagement plans with a “community first” mindset, able to embed the brand into culture and create fame/ build brand love
  • Develop world class consumer understanding and Community based category insights to fuel breakthrough innovation ideas and communication campaigns, including SFDG brand plans and BETs.
  • Lead development of BETs with the latest BrandVerse thinking in mind and accelerate the transformation from a traditional to a SFDG model.
  • Develop teams capabilities and skills on end to end innovation cycle: Male beauty crafting, premium capabilities and social first communication models/ lo-fi content factory”; develop “beauty/premium training for our teams” and create a network of partners that can enable us to execute at premium standards.
  • Brand architecture long term visioning.

All About You

  • 14+ years in Marketing with experience in Beauty & Personal Care. You are leading edge in all facets of brand development (i.e. brand positioning/equity, concept development, project leadership) and have robust experience leading brand platforms and complex innovation / engagement plans.
  • A visionary leader with intellectual rigor and strong abilities in Strategic Thinking and planning. Bold in thought and brave in action. Have a healthy disregard for status quo.
  • You are innately curious, externally oriented, and personally engaged in culture(s)
  • A passionate crafter, that doesn’t compromise in the delivery of superior, delightful mixes even in high pressure circumstances; able to mobilize teams to deliver to this vision.
  • Highly intuitive with storytelling ability; you are able to spot issues & opportunities and know how to frame messages in a simple and compelling way.
  • A healthy obsession with pleasing consumers and a fascination for the products we sell – the formulations, science, fragrance, sensorial, look and feel. You understand how our products compare to competitors and are committed to unmissable superiority. Experience in premium innovation and strong skills in Crafting and Eye for Beauty.
  • You have high ambitions for brand communication and a track record of successful 360 campaigns. A “community first” mindset, delivered in bold SFDG campaigns that embed the brand into culture and create Fame/ Brand Love.
  • Passion for Male grooming. Someone that is motivated to do the “right thing” instead of the “easy thing”.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment, able to remove barriers and move the brand agenda forward independently.
  • Excellence in influencing a wide variety of stakeholders at senior levels from US BU team, cross function and category; Has experience in effectively managing and driving the relationship with advertising agency partners independently.
  • An inspiring caring leader with track record of building motivated and strong teams; you know your own strengths and weaknesses and able to build relationships and spark passion with others that result in a high performing team
  • A leader who creates leaders, by providing coaching development and passion to attract the best inside and outside Unilever with agency partners and the best creative minds that will help DM+C become the thought leader in SFDG model in Male Personal Care.

Pay: The pay range for this position is $221,000 to $386,925. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.

Long-Term Incentive (LTI) This position is LTI eligible.
