JOB PURPOSE

The Health & Beauty channel is a strategic pillar of Unilever Sri Lanka, driving our Beauty & Wellbeing business forward. As the Junior/Assistant Channel Manager, you will play a key role in championing sustainable growth and adding vitality to the lives of our stakeholders. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sales and Business Development:

    • Drive sales growth within assigned territory/BP locations by identifying new business opportunities and maximizing revenue potential.

    • Develop and execute strategic channel/customer plans to achieve sales targets and increase market share.

    • Explore new business avenues stemming from sub channels, categories and penetration opportunities.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including channel marketing, customer strategy, finance and governance teams, to ensure effective execution of sales strategies.

  • Negotiation and Contract Management:

    • Negotiate and finalize JBP, loyalty program and JMP agreements with respective chain outlets and customers, ensuring mutually beneficial terms and conditions.

    • Manage promotions, merchandising/Perfect Stores and trade terms to maximize profitability while maintaining strong customer relationships.

    • Monitor contract performance, review sales data, and identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.

    • Responsible for delivering Perfect store compliance whilst, ensuring availability, visibility, assortment & merchandising in all stores directly serviced by our BPs.

  • Market Analysis and Insights:

    • Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments that may impact sub channels and key customers.

    • Conduct regular market analysis and utilize market insights to identify opportunities and develop strategies for growth.

    • Provide feedback and recommendations to internal teams regarding product development, pricing, and marketing strategies.

  • Account Reporting and Forecasting:

    • Prepare regular sales reports, account performance analyses, and forecasts for key accounts.

    • Monitor sales performance against targets and take necessary actions to address any deviations.

    • Collaborate with business partner and customer service teams to ensure accurate and timely billing, invoicing, and order fulfillment. Set ambitious targets for sales volume, revenue, and market share, and develop action plans to achieve them.

  • Account Management:

    • Conduct regular business reviews with business partners, key accounts, assess performance, and identify growth opportunities.

    • Negotiate commercial terms, contracts, and pricing agreements to maximize profitability.

  • Training & Development

    • Caching, training and development of Senior Territory Executives, Sale Representatives and Merchandising Representatives.

    • Educate customers to make sustainable decisions and guide them to make right choices.

    • Guide third party suppliers and resources to achieve agreed KPIs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

  • 1 or 2 years of experience in sales or related roles, preferably in the FMCG industry.

  • Strong sales and negotiation skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze market trends and customer insights.

  • Proficient in Microsoft office, especially in Microsoft excel.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

  • A valid driving license and willingness to travel across the country.
