Unilever is currently hiring for Home Care Indonesia Packaging Development Managerbased in Cikarang, Indonesia.

Job Purpose

Home Care Indonesia is looking for an experienced Packaging Development Manager to lead for Total Home Care Categories – the home to iconic & beloved brands such as Rinso,Molto, Sunlight, Vixal & Wipol

Reporting to Home Care Indonesia R&D Lead this role will be responsible for leading the Home Care Indonesia packaging team: identifying, developing and deploying differentiated, innovative pack formats, converting consumer & customer insights into business opportunity.  You will play a lead role partnering with Supply Chain & Procurement stakeholders to identify and engage with packaging vendors and third-party manufacturers for strategic reasons and competitive advantage, supporting brand and category innovation plans. Finally, you will provide packaging technical expertise and risk management measures for ensuring on-time, in-full delivery.

Indonesia is 5th biggest market for Home Care Unilever, with relatively complex category landscape. This is a high visibility role within Unilever and offers plenty of scope for leadership skill development, marketing excellence, and end-to-end business exposures

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage the successful delivery of all projects cascaded from the R&D strategy

  • Manage and create resources and capabilities to ensure successful delivery of projects.

  • Promote growth and learning for subordinates and provide guidance in formulation and processing.

  • Deliver packaging which not only meets the required quality and technical standards, but also meets the consumer and customer requirements using Unilever’s Packaging Excellence best practices.

  • Drive simplification to manage complexity & unlock value. 

  • Lead capability building for the packaging function.     

  • To comply with the Unilever Code of Business Principles and all SHE and QA policies, Risk Management and Environmental awareness

Candidate Criteria

Experience & Qualification

  • B.S. Degree (PackagingScience, EnvironmentalScience, or engineering equivalent) required, and Masters in Engineering or Management preferred.  Minimum 5 years’ experience in a FMCG company.   

  • Thorough understanding on overall Packaging process.

  • Good understanding on rigid & flexible packaging (including bottles, jars, closures, pumps, tubes) – materials, converting methods, filling & decoration technologies.

  • Agility on managing complexity through harmonisation and simplification is preferred

  • Good understanding of component costing and cost of packaging materials

  • Manage Risks actively & align cross functional teams 

  • Able to work effectively in multi-disciplinary, geographically dispersed teams.

  • Capable of effectively communicating with & influencing key Stakeholders and Cluster teams – technical & non-technical.

  • Working knowledge to fully operational project management skills & tools

  • Proven capability to manage & coach people.
