JOB PURPOSE:

The Magnum Ice Cream Company (TMICC) is committed to ensuring that its products are compliant with legislation across the globe.

This role (reporting to the Global Regulatory Compliance Manager in the RD&I Scientific Affairs team) plays a key part in supporting the Compliance program across TMICC globally.

The Regulatory teams support the entire TMICC product portfolio, deal with a high variety in compliance activities and interact with many functions in TMICC.

The Global Regulatory Compliance Assistant Manager Ice Cream will work closely with the regional and local Regulatory teams to deliver the global compliance agenda as well as driving a range of improvement projects (including digital transformation initiatives). The role will interface with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support Regulatory Product Compliance Assessments (e.g. raw material, formulation, artwork, packaging, registration/documentation and impact assessment) via interpretation of existing food and/or food contact regulations in line with TMICC business strategy.

  • Drive cross-functional activities with various global, regional and local teams to deliver the global TMICC compliance agenda. 

  • Assist the Global Regulatory Compliance Manager in monitoring and interpretation of changes in food and food related regulations in TMICC markets that may impact on the IC business and advise the business on eventual risks and/or corrective actions to ensure compliance. 

  • Identify and evaluate external Regulatory Compliance Intelligence tools/databases/ service providers.

  • Support the digital transformation initiatives through assisting in development, deployment and adoption of necessary digital tools/processes, and continuous education of stakeholders/users.

  • Assist the Global Regulatory Compliance Manager in improving the governance of product compliance data for the digitized compliance processes.

  • Champion usage of existing digital tools to support compliance priorities.

  • Support tool content management initiatives and assist in global expansion plans.

  • Manage various regulatory databases/repositories to ensure continued compliance of the product/formulation/RM and packaging portfolio.

  •   Ensure smooth running of outsourced compliance services in collaboration with relevant (internal and external) TMICC business partners 

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Good understanding of TMICC RD&I formulations, products, raw materials and packaging materials, including basic appreciation of related compliance processes

  • Good understanding of and/or affinity with current and emerging food legislation (e.g. contaminants, pesticides and food contact materials) and interest to develop this knowledge further on a global scale

  • Digital mindset: appreciation of data, tools, automation (including AI tools), preferably in the field of regulatory compliance assessments, which require very complex data mapping and processing

  • Hands-on experience of working with PLM and compliance tools is preferable.

  • Capable of understanding and developing business processes

  • Attention to detail, tenacity, ability to recognize, question and resolve discrepancies

  • Very well organized, self-motivated, enthusiastic, confident, curious, entrepreneurial

  • Good communication skills

  • Good project management skills

  • Strong networking skills and collaborative mindset

  • Strong Business acumen, Agility & Passion for high performance

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

EXPERIENCES & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Chemistry / Food Science & Technology / Food Safety Management

  • Candidates should be proficient in building models, collecting data, and designing effective AI processes, as well as understanding AI assurance and validation processes, including risk assessment and compliance with internal and external regulations

  • Relevant experience with comprehensive training strategies, including developing training materials and continuous engagement would be beneficial.
